With record-breaking pre-orders, it is clear that the excitement for the Samsung Galaxy
S-III, is rising exponentially all over the world. 9 million pre-orders so far have created
powerful buzz and lot of expectations from Samsung Galaxy S III. Is it going to give a
tough fight to its competitors? Let us find about it.
Samsung Galaxy S III is giving tough competition to apple iPhone 4 and HTC One X.
With over 9 million pre-orders, the roar of Samsung galaxy S III is unbeatable with its
competitors. Apple iPhone-4 had 4 million pre-orders, which was the highest record so
far. By beating the world’s largest smartphone maker, Samsung has proved its market
presence all over the world.
Comparing the technical aspects of Samsung Galaxy S III, we have the results as follows:
First of all, by comparing the processor speed of Galaxy S III with its competitors, it was found that with 1.4GHz dual core quad processor, S III has left HTC One X and Apple iPhone marginally behind. The 1.5GHz single core processor in HTC One X is quite slow as compared to Samsung Galaxy S III.
Now, let us have a look on various standard tests performed by experts. According to the Antutu benchmark, in the testing of CPU speed, memory and graphics, S III is far ahead of HTC One X. According to results of this test, Samsung Galaxy S III has 12,112 points. On the other hand, HTC One X has just secure 10,827 points. Therefore, S III is ahead of HTC One X. This test is sufficient to rate the performance of Samsung Galaxy S III.
However, another similar kind of test known as Quadrant test was carried out in order to find the best one among Galaxy S III and HTC One X. Samsung Galaxy S III came out as the clear winner here by scoring 5,289 points, whereas HTC One X received 4,904 points.
According to the standard Egypt test, S III has again secured the top position by scoring 59 frames per second. On other hand, HTC One X had 52 frames per second.
Now, let us take Apple iPhone. As per the browser test of SunSpider JavaScript, S III has come up with 1,498.9ms, whereas iPad has 1,890.9ms. Again, S III is a clear winner here, as the lower scorer is the better one in this test. The same test when conducted with iPhone 4S gave 2181.6ms, which is very high and thus an unfavourable result. Thus, S III has not only beaten the best smartphone, but it also overtook one of the powerful tablets as well.
Comparison between iPhone OS and S III OS is not possible, as both are from different platforms. However, HTC One X and Galaxy S III both run on Android platforms and therefore, is comparable. Once again, S III scored better points. Although, processor of One X is 1.5GHz and S III has 1.4GHz, but the Exynos 4 Quad chip manufactured by Samsung is better than the Tetra 3 processor by Nvidia in One X.
Conclusion:
Looking at the experts’ opinions and result of the tests, Samsung Galaxy S III has left its competitors far behind with its hi-tech and user-friendly features. The tag line “Designed for Humans” is perfect for this device.

I am so keen to get this phone as an upgrade from my i9000 Galaxy S. Your article makes me even more keen.
I almost cannot wait for the 32gb Pebble Blue to be released, but I know I’ll be disappointed with the white when the blue comes out (besides everyone else will have the white from day 1 sales).
Can you give the numbers of the S3 vs 4s for the Antutu benchmark, Quadrant test and standard Egypt test, as well as the numbers of the S3 vs HTC One X for the SunSpider JavaScript test.
Your article doesn’t really give a lot of useful comparative information, as it completely skips out on half the relevant information for the competition. I’d avoid buying an S3 on the basis that the implication is that it performs poorly in the tests I’ve asked about.
@Sol – You’re right although articles and benchmarks take time. I will get around to this soon.
