We are 1 day away from the phone of the year decade century - The Samsung Galaxy S3, from officially being released in Australia. This has come at a huge surprise as it was under wraps for such a long time.
Samsung Australia has sent out media invites to tech reporters around Australia to join themin announcing a launch event which is rumoured to be around the Samsung Galaxy S3 for the Australian Market. Let’s not beat around the bush, Samsung keep their products under wraps for a very long time before launch. This has been a long time coming, and I’m disappointed that it hasn’t happened sooner.
We should extend that Telstra will be looking at releasing a version that is 4G LTE compatible which will give it a significant edge over Optus & Vodafone if they release a 3G only version. Overseas versions in the US, Japan & Korea are going to be 4G compatible, but Telstra are reportedly fighting with Samsung to not give them quad band only phones. It’s an interesting power struggle from my perspective.
Whatever the case, Samsung would do well to not play these cat – mouse games with their Australian userbase… we already have enough secrecy from Apple alone, but don’t get all high and mighty just yet Samsung…
Any thoughts on the delayed release date? Will you be attending or stalking the entrance trying to break into the meeting? What would you do for a Samsung Galaxy S3? Comment below!

I will be watching the vodafone site for the live feed. As soon as i see it listed, I will be phoning to order one. I may still get a Note for the business though, as the screen seems to be perfect as a phablet for business. BTW – great job on keeping this site live and up to date Ad.
@Shannon – cheers mate appreciate that – I will be waiting to see if Telstra have the 4G version in stock if it comes out.
I would hold out for a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 as it will be the second out of the terrible twosome of Samsung’s smartphones that will dominate the market as know it.
Thanks man! It’s always good to be doing what you love and Samsung are keeping on my toes since they are scarce with handing out information to the public
Hey Adam,
Like you, I will be waiting for telstra have the 4G stock. My contract has been available for renewal for 3 – 4 weeks now but I have been waiting for this phone to become available. Late night Shopping to the nearest telstra store as soon as work finishes!
Also i agree with Shannon. Great job on the website. It has been kept up to date with the latest news frequently. I work in IT and do am doing a lot of web development at the moment, so I know it must not have been easy to provide such frequent updates.
Well done mate, hope to see more of your work in this area.
Cheers,
Mitch

I wouldn’t hold your breath for Telstra selling a 4G version. They still haven’t released the HTC One and that’s been available for over a month.
Cheers, Stuart
I just want to be able to order one already!!!
Check out our recent blog post – Optus are already selling them!
@ SuartGW
They just released the HTC One 4G version a month after initial release.

I hope that isn’t an indicator of the 4G S3.
Who knows with Telstra’s push for 4g compatibility. All I know you can order one with Optus right now!
@ Ron, Thanks I missed that.
@Ron, thanks for that, I missed it.
S3 is now on plan at Telstra but not in stock and not 4G and not likely to be by the sound of it.
Cheers, Stuart
Does anyone know when we are likely to see the 32Gb model?
