People who pre-ordered the fancy new Samsung Galaxy S3 from specific stores in the United Kingdom have a fantastic treat in store for them when they can lay their hands on the device one day ahead of its official launch. Samsung has confirmed that this coveted new smartphone will be launched on the 30th of May in the United Kingdom and certain other countries in Europe. It will be launched in Asia, the Middle East and Africa after that. The company has not set a date for a launch in the United States, merely saying that it will be in the summer.
Customers who pre-ordered this Android phone the Samsung store in London’s Westfield Shopping Centre can pick it up at 6pm on the 29th of May. People who pre-ordered it through other Samsung retailers and not just through the Samsung Brand Store won’t have to wait too long either since they can pick up the coveted Android Ice-cream Sandwich smartphones by 7pm on the same day.
In the words of Simon Stanford, Vice President of Telecommunications and Networks for Samsung UK, “We’ve had an overwhelming response from our retail partners and customers alike since announcing the Galaxy S III on 3 May. So we wanted to delight our customers and reward them for pre-ordering by letting them get their hands on the device a day before anyone else,”
Customers can buy the Samsung Galaxy S3 directly from the company for £499. They can also place pre-orders on the Vodafone, O2 and Three networks at very attractive packages including SIM cards.
Fans of Android phones have a lot to look forward to in the Samsung Galaxy S3. This stunning new phone has all it takes to give the soon to be launched iPhone 5 a run for its
money. Being considerably larger than the Galaxy S2 (the S3 measures 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm whereas the S2 weighs in at 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.49mm), the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a lot of similarities with the Galaxy Note.
This smartphone runs an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a 1.4GHz Exynos 4 quad- core processor. Its 4.8-inch AMOLED screen is also substantially larger than that of the S2. The phone also has an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera in addition to a front camera. Another interesting feature is “Face Recognition” which ensures that the screen never goes dark or switches off as long as the user keeps looking at it. This feature makes use of the front camera to keep track of the user’s eyes. This phone also comes with a very advanced voice control feature that a user can use to make commands in order to control various applications and actions. Another interesting feature on this phone is its advanced content sharing ability thanks to its NFC chip.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is a true technological marvel and the market is pleasantly surprised now that its launch has been pushed forward. You too can lay your hands on one before it is officially launched if you pre-order it from the right outlet.
