There is no clear victor between in the battle between Samsung vs. Apple. In fact, it has just got a whole lot more uglier with the release of the latest advertisements from the smartphone giants. Samsung’s ‘It Doesn’t Take a Genius’ ad (shown below) is evidently a dig at Apple’s tech support, the Genius Bar, in Apple Retail Stores.
I personally can’t praise the marketing team at Samsung for tapping into what we all know too well and that is…
Apple fans are simplistic sheeple who love being told how to think, act and buy.
And OH what a shit storm this little slice of the truth has caused the last few days. If anything, it has given the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5 even more press coverage than they both could ever ask for (or deserve in Apple’s case). If you don’t believe me – just think about the variations of the humble iPod below…
iPod classic aka “The mp3 I listen to in everyday life, in the car, on the bus in my bed”
iPod shuffle aka “I’m too broke to afford anything bigger mp3 player” aka “The iPod for the blind”
iPod touch aka “I couldn’t afford an iPhone mp3 player” aka “I want a phone but I don’t have any friends to call”
iPod nano aka “I like my iPod the same size as my genitals” aka “My carer maintains my playlist during visits iPod”
All these iterations of the same mp3 capabilities, in a different frame with different amounts of HDD storage in an extremely exaggerated pricing model.
But onto the ad.
